A Cozy Home

Hi Friends!   It's another Toni Taddeo Tuesday 4.  Here is a tradition begun by sweet Toni years ago and carried on so faithfully by Annie. Come join us!
  1. What’s one feature in your home that makes it feel especially cozy or comfortable for you? My home contains things that bring me joy. They are things that remind me of places, events and people that I love. When you walk inside here, you see "Me". It's like being surrounded by old friends. One of my favorite pieces of furniture (besides my bed) are my two bookcases. They are full of old friends and mementos - each with their own story.
  2. How do you like to personalize your living space to reflect your style or personality? I live in an apartment and so there isn't much I can change except furnishings and accessories. Each of my rooms have a "theme" or at least I try to keep to one. My living room reflects Tennessee, something I began when I first moved there. It has darker colors, black bears, pinecones and looks cozy and more rustic. My bedroom reflects my thoughts about Jesus as the Good Shepherd. I really need a Good Shepherd these days! It contains wall art of Jesus and lambs and soft colors My bathroom reflects my years in Florida with seashells, manatee prints on the wall and beachy colors. My kitchen - well it's just my kitchen. The kitchen and living room are one big room so it colors and so forth sort of spill over.
  3. Are there any home maintenance tasks you find particularly important for keeping your space comfortable year-round? Thankfully any big deal maintenance tasks are left to the apartment complex. My apartment seems to attract so much dust so that's a constant chore. And with Apollo, who likes to scatter his cat litter around with his paws, there is a lot of sweeping and mopping. Right now, my vacuum is on the fritz so that makes things a challenge. I'm picky about how I arrange things and so I keep things in order. Disorder just depresses me. And then there's the bathroom cleaning. Not my favorite chore.
  4. What’s your go-to way to unwind or create a relaxing atmosphere at home after a long day? Just being home is balm to my soul. If I'm really tired, it's a quick meal and sometimes in bed early with a good book. If I'm being creative, I light candles and dig out my expensive lotions and treat myself. I enjoy watching television but have learned when to shut it off with all the craziness out there. Apollo is usually next to me, either on the couch or in bed.
This has been fun and it's given me some ideas for future posts. I can always use ideas! Stay tuned and have a great week!
