Welcome to Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4... are you ready for Autumn?
Sunday September 22 is the Autumnal Equinox, the first day of the Autumn season. Let's talk about it okay?
1. Are there pumpkins or chrysanthemums on your porch or are you planning on putting some out?
I don't decorate my porch much, but I do have some pumpkins in the house. ("Pretend" pumpkins, that is.) Right now, I'm building my fall decorations collection as I don't have much. I'm thinking of buying a couple of those little bales of hay at Walmart and sticking a pumpkin or two there.
2. What seasonal changes are you noticing in your part of the world? What would you add or take away?
Here in E. Tennessee, the leaves are just beginning to change color. Right now, our temps are still in the low 90s, so fall doesn't feel like fall yet. Our autumn colors hit their peak usually mid-October. I wouldn't change a thing about autumn here! It's gorgeous and if you can get to the Smokies at that time, then it's a bonus. We do have a tropical depression coming later this week and I hope that the leaves aren't all blown away before they change their color.
3. Is pumpkin pie on the menu for you this fall? How about pumpkin spice or pumpkin latte coffee flavors? Are you a fan? Spiced teas? What do you like?
4. If there was a free week long tour of New England, complete with peak colors and a trip to Plimouth, Massachusetts (the colony site with historical players), would you come along? If that doesn't suit, where would you like to go for your Autumn trip?
You can't beat Cades Cove in the Smoky Mountain National Park for seeing the beauty of autumn and I feel blessed to live right beside it. I'd love to camp in the campground there and tour the Cades Cove Loop. I've been to New England in the fall as well and it's gorgeous! I love the history of that place, and I've visited Plymouth rock.
Thanks, Annie for keeping this tradition alive! Come and join us at Tuesday 4
